Homeworld: First Impressions

Well, I have been letting this place slip in the last while, but I'm back with a new list of games ready to be picked apart by my inexperienced self.

Homeworld is probably a great Space-Sim with lots of very interesting features, if it hadn't bored me to death before the first part of the fucking STORY! The only thing that kept me playing was writing a review of it, which I'm trying to do but is as hard as hell.

The story, I think, is that you are given a huge mother-fucking ship and on the first test your home planet goes to hell and you have to find a planet that was written on some ancient stone or something. Honestly, I didn't really care for the story as I was looking for the awesome space combat action!

That, too, shitted itself inside out. From the very first battle I realised that "This is going to be long and boring", and it was. I won't even bother explaining more than "Wait for ships to be built, fight a long and uninteresting battle, repeat". I'm sure that there's better action later but if a plan to draw out game is to make it go at a snails pace until they DECIDE to make it worth playing isn't going to work.

As you can see, it's very much a "First Impressions". It is also a "Last Impressions". I thoroughly did not enjoy this game and wouldn't recommend it to anyone other than WoW fans and Koreans.
